The Role

As our technical Lead Hardware Engineer for CAD design and mechanical development of components for ultra-low-temperature cryogenic systems. You will drive the physical integration of critical RF components, manage parts procurement, and ensure the overall thermal and mechanical performance of our cryogenic hardware.

Key Responsibilities

Design, Integration, & Verification

  • Design and develop CAD models and mechanical components for cryogenic systems, optimizing thermal performance and minimizing heat loads.
  • Integrate RF components into cryogenic assemblies with proper mechanical and thermal considerations.
  • Conduct cryogenic testing and verification of mechanical and RF performance.

 

Management & Documentation

  • Manage procurement of mechanical, PCBs, and RF parts.
  • Document designs, tests, and BOMs, and actively contribute to building out the hardware engineering team.

 

Qualifications

Foundation

  • Education: BSc or MSc in electrical, mechanical engineering, or equivalent expertise.
  • Mindset: Startup mentality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, adaptable, and takes initiative.


Core Expertise (Must-Haves)

  • Design: Strong experience with CAD software for mechanical design.
  • Practical RF/Cryo: Demonstrated practical experience integrating RF/microwave components in cryogenic environments.
  • Hands-on: Hands-on experience with cryogenic measurements.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with thermal simulation software.

Open Position: Business Development Manager

We are looking for a commercial leader to take our technology from the lab to the global market.

The Role

As our Business Development Leader, you will own YQuantum’s growth strategy and revenue generation. You will serve as the primary bridge between our engineering team and Tier-1 customers, leveraging your technical depth to qualify leads, secure contracts, and define the product roadmap based on market demand.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Sales

  • Drive Revenue: Manage the full B2B sales lifecycle from qualification to negotiation and closing for high-value technical components.
  • Brand & Messaging: Develop technical sales collateral (white papers, decks) and refine the company’s value proposition for a global audience.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust global pipeline of enterprise and research clients.
  • Global Travel: Represent YQuantum at customer sites and leading international conferences.


Strategic Growth & Product Fit

  • Market Intelligence: Analyze the competitive landscape to identify new market adjacencies and strategic pivot opportunities.
  • Technical Consulting: Act as the primary technical consultant for hardware integration (e.g., RF filters, packaging) during the sales process.
  • Voice of the Customer: Translate market needs into quantifiable commercial requirements to guide the R&D roadmap.

 

Qualifications

Foundation

  • Experience: 4+ years in a commercial technical role (Technical Sales, Application Engineering, or BD) within RF, quantum hardware, defense, or semiconductor industries.
  • Education: MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Background: Experience in a hardware startup or fast-paced scale-up is highly preferred.

Domain Expertise

  • Deep Tech Fluency: Proven hands-on experience or deep familiarity with RF/microwave systems, cryogenic electronics, or precision control instrumentation.
  • Commercial Mindset: Ability to translate deep technical specs (S-parameters, noise temperature) into commercial value propositions.
  • Agility: Comfortable working with ambiguity and executing quickly without corporate infrastructure.

Open Position: Quantum Research Scientist

The Role

As a Quantum Research Scientist, you’ll work on both cleanroom fabrication and low-temperature quantum measurements of superconducting quantum devices. You’ll bridge design and experiment, driving improvements that directly impact the performance and scalability of our quantum devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate superconducting microwave circuits in one of Switzerland’s most advanced cleanrooms at Park Innovaare PSI.
  • Develop and optimize fabrication recipes (lithography, deposition, etching, surface treatments).
  • Build, operate, and maintain cryogenic measurement systems for advanced microwave measurements.
  • Analyze data, identify performance limits, and collaborate with design and theory teams to drive improvements.
 

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in cleanroom micro/nanofabrication and metrology.
 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Hands-on background in quantum measurements and cryogenic systems.
  • Experience with superconducting qubits or similar quantum devices.
  • Skilled in data analysis and scripting (Python, MATLAB, etc.).
  • Familiar with microwave engineering and measurement equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, …).
